Ingushetia "Hotline for Militants" Receives 42 Calls

Today, the “hot line” for repentant members of the armed underground has started working. This was stated by Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the leader of Ingushetia. During the working day, 42 persons called to the “hot line”, the press service of the leader of the republic reports.

It is planned that the “hot line” will run every day from 09:00 a.m. till 06:00 p.m. The leader of Ingushetia has explained that a group of people will be answer phone calls and he himself will join the dialogue when necessary.

Today, the phone calls mainly contained questions concerning social issues; however, there were two phone calls from parents of militants. This was told to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent by the representative of the press service of the leader of the republic.

According to him, the father of one of the militants has called on the “hot line” and asked about guarantees if he brings his son, whose name is not disclosed in the applicant’s interest. “There was also a phone call from a conditionally sentenced member of an illegal armed formation, who asked whether it was possible in his case to close his conditional sentence,” the Press Secretary of the leader of Ingushetia reported.

The source has explained that all phone calls are divided into three levels of response “urgent”, “important”, and “essential.” The status “urgent” is being assigned to issues, related to crimes and illegal armed formations (IAFs). “Urgent questions are being immediately reported to the leader of the republic.”
